A Night with Komansé
Fri, Apr 18th, 2025 at 6:30 - 8:30 PM EDT
The Paideia Black Box Theater & Art Lobby, Atlanta, GA
Experience a night with Komansé Dance Theater. Join us for an evening of movement, storytelling, and cinematic artistry as Komansé Dance Theater presents a live work-in-process choreography performance alongside exclusive screenings of select Komansé short films.
This inaugural work-in-process event offers a behind-the-scenes look into the creative process, showcasing the raw, evolving artistry of Komansé’s latest works, choreographed by AC Wilson, Akeem Edwards, Lindsay Renea-Benton, Raianna C. Brown, & Tony DeBerry. Witness the energy of the dancers in motion, complemented by a cinematic journey through "Permanent EW, SN" and "Da Me La Luz" — each film a testament to Komansé’s bold vision and commitment to social storytelling through dance.
Following the performance, audience members will have the opportunity to participate in Q&A with the Komansé artistic team.
A Night with Komansé kicks off Komansé Dance Theater’s performance season at The Paideia School. Our Artistic Director Raianna Brown was recently selected as Paideia’s 2024-25 Cecelia Caines Artist-in-Residence. As the artist-in-residence, Komansé Dance Theater will emphasize community oriented creative process, bringing art, history, and uncompromising storytelling to the Paideia performance spaces.
Whether you're a longtime fan or new to Komansé’s world, this is an opportunity to engage with the company’s creative evolution, gain insight into the choreographic process, and celebrate the power of dance on both stage and screen.
Come be a part of the movement.
